TROY – Downtown Troy has a new spot for adults to enjoy a fun time with friends.
Franklin Alley Social Club opened for business Friday evening. It's an amusement hall and bar featuring vintage arcade games and indoor shuffleboard courts.
It took a year of renovations to get the club ready. The owners believe it was worth it.
"I just think it has a different vibe. It's very positive, bright, happy – especially in this winter we’re having right now,” said co-owner Frank Sicari.
The space used to be the Knights of Columbus basement bowling alley.
All Over Albany Feature
The Franklin Alley Social Club space now includes two shuffleboard lanes, a bocce ball court, a bar, an arcade with old-school games such as Galaga, board games, and a small stage area. The bar features a lineup of craft beers and Boylan sodas. And the food menu is made up of hot dogs and tater tots -- both available with all sorts of toppings
The ALT Feature
“One day we had 2,000 pounds of arcade games delivered to our door. It’s a basement and everything had to come down to the basement–arcade games, beer coolers. Some of these things weigh hundreds of pounds.”
Hudson Valley Magazine Feature
“Another day in paradise” is on display beside plastic flamingos, decorative life preservers, and artificial palm trees at this cruse ship themed amusement hall and bar in Troy, NY.
At the Franklin Alley Social Club, it’s paradise all-year round.
After about a year of renovations, owners Heidi and Frank Sicari opened FASC at the end of Dec., which is located in the same building as the Takk House, a wedding and event venue the couple also owns.
